Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi initiates the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Golgada in Uttar Pradesh, marking the 35th day of his nationwide journey. Arriving in Varanasi, Gandhi plans to visit the revered Baba Vishwanath temple, engaging in religious rituals. Additionally, he is scheduled to convene a roadshow, addressing a public gathering, and interacting with local weavers, as well as students from Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, providing insights into Gandhi's itinerary, highlights the yatra's focus on connecting with grassroots communities and addressing issues pertinent to them, such as the plight of weavers and challenges faced by Gandhian institutions under the current administration. Meanwhile, Ramesh criticizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies, particularly the freezing of Congress accounts, labeling it as vindictive politics. Gandhi's journey will continue through Bhadohi, with plans for public engagements and community interactions before proceeding to Prayagraj.
